FAQ's

Will we meet our pet sitter?

Yes, of course! You will meet your sitter on the initial consultation prior to your start date. The initial consultation is completely free and gives you and the sitter the ability to meet one another and your pet(s).

Will you watch my pets without an initial consultation?

No. The initial consultation is done in order to define trust within you and us. We want to meet your pets, understand exactly how you would like us to care for them, sign the agreement with us, and also learn of any additional requests you may have for your pets or home.

How exactly does pet sitting work?

We come to your home to care for your pets on a per visit basis. Our services can be customized to suit your needs. Frequency of visits are completely up to you since we charge per visit.

We do all the standard things such as feeding your pet and providing fresh water, dog walking and/or potty breaks and exercise, cleaning litter boxes, playing with toys, and lots of love and pets!

As needed, we can administer medication and we clean up any accidents that we may find.

We will also bring in your newspaper and mail, alternate lights, put the main trash can out for pick-up, etc.

How long does a visit last?

The standard visit ranges between 20-30 minutes. Depending on how busy our schedules are it may be 20 minutes or it could even range up to an hour depending on time limitations. If you request a minimum amount of time that is longer than the standard visit, it is subject to a slight increase in the rate.

What is the typical rate per visit?

Because everyone's circumstances are different there are no flat fees. The typical rate is $20 per visit. However, if your pets have additional needs such as administering medication, providing insulin injections, or caring for 5 or more animals, the amount of time it takes to properly care for your pet will increase. Due to this, the rates are subject to an increase as well.

Do you charge extras for weekends or holidays?

Weekends have no additional charge. Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas have a $10 surcharge for that day.

How much notice do you need for taking care of my pet?

At least one week ahead of time is preferred. We do know that emergencies or circumstances arise on short notice and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

If we are booked and manage to work you in on short notice (less than 1 week), you may be subject to a 10% increase in rates. But rest assured, the care for your pet will always be the best!

What if I do not need you that day, but you have shown up to take care of my pets?

There will be a $5 surcharge for scheduling the day around the visit and time taken to drive to your home.

I'm not comfortable handing my keys over to a stranger. How can I be reassured?

We are bonded and insured. In addition, we hope that once you meet us you will see we are very trustworthy and honest people and only have you and your pets best interest at heart! If you are still wary, background checks are available upon request.
